With David Curtis
Significantly enhance your study and
practice of the Dharma from the convenience of your own home. Study with a
teacher who has successfully taught hundreds of students from all backgrounds
over the last 22 years. David has taught seminars in more than a dozen
states and his classes are highly recommended by students, scholars, Lamas, and Rinpoches.
What Rinpoches Have Said
"David Curtis is one of the best teachers of
Tibetan Language....It is a rare opportunity. David is not just a language
teacher; he is part of an authentic Dharma lineage."
"The unique methods of language instruction
offered by the Institute have
drawn large numbers of students, and the speed and swiftness with which they
learn to read and write Tibetan is remarkable." --Gochen Tulku Rinpoche
Curriculum for Level II Course
Building on a foundation of the study of words, phrases and sentences
in Tibetan, the student will begin to integrate material presented in the
Level 1 course, learning how Tibetan works as a language. This course lays the foundation for the successful reading of Tibetan texts and participation in the Level III Reading Course.
Classes are fun and a great way to fuel
your studies. Being able to access this kind of course from the comfort of
your home or when you are traveling is a great opportunity to continue to
deepen your experience in the Dharma.
This course is ideal for those students
needing a review or for those who cannot attend a seminar in person.
does the course work?
All you need to do is
(1) Register for the class on the TLI website. Don't
wait as this teleconference technology has limits on how many can attend.
(2) Obtain the necessary Level II Manual
and/or Level II Package.
3) On the designated time and day, call the
special number that will be given to you. This is a telephone
number usually in Iowa and is not toll free.
4) Have to miss a class? Just want to listen to the class a
second time? Not a problem because included in your registration is a phone
number to access a telephone recording of the class (not a computer
download). Students tell us over and over that this is a very useful and
convenient aspect to the class.
Student Comments on TLI's Courses
Tibetan from David Curtis is definitely one of life's better experiences.
love this course. I feel as if I am finally making progress in Tibetan. Thanks,
David! Your method works. --W.S., LA
telephone lessons have been so enlightening and enriching to my practice. It's
been so good to learn right at home, with my cup of tea! Yet there's a
wonderful teacher present, and other classmates, and the opportunity to ask
questions....It can't get any better than that. --M.M., AZ
I am taking the level I class and enjoying it
tremendously. I have [now] been studying regularly which is helping me feel
confident that I'll be able to read and continue learning Tibetan beyond this
first class. --C.P., CA
Just wanted to say how great the virtual class was
last night. David's presentation was so interesting, tight, and focused. The
whole thing was a lot of fun--so thank you! --R.A.
